Breeding Stocksand Facilities

In our second phase of our fish farm, we have tens of ponds just to house hundreds of show quality breeding stock of different varieties. We place them in big ponds so that they do not fight too much and when we want to breed them, we will isolate them. We will care for the fishes individually to condition them to optimum breeding potential. After about 3 weeks of conditioning, these breeding stocks are carefully selected and paired up for breeding. |

Flowerfish.com always keep the top 2% of our most beautiful fishes for breeding purposes. They were selected from individually housed tanks at about 5"-6" and are put into the big ponds for the grow-out stage. After about 4-6 months, they will be ready to breed and are netted from the ponds. The pictures above are the adult breeding stock. The lack of colour and good nuchal humps are due to the pond conditions and stress during netting. But the brilliant shimmer, good body shape and big red patch on the body are evidence that these are show-quality fishes.
